Martin Luther King, Jr. Day 2014 was a great day for the Wilson Park Northern Neighborhood Association.
Over 200 volunteers converged at Walter P. Carter E/M School and Recreation Center for a day of service sponsored by Target Corp. Volunteers came from many organizations including a delegation of Wilson Park Northern members led by Nia Govan, WP Carter students and families, Councilman Henry and staff, Morgan State Alums, Target, and more.
The day started with a kick-off brunch for the Target personnel and volunteers and remarks from the principal, Ms. McKinily.
Volunteers participated in painting of murals throughout the school and recreation center. They bagged food for the school's food pantry and picked up litter in the neighborhood.
