BGE IS REPLACING AGED GAS MAIN ON YORK ROAD: On January 6 through April 15, BGE will be replacing a gas main on York Road, from Woodbourne Avenue to just below Harwood Avenue. The work will take place down the middle of York Road, so please be prepared for some traffic disruption. Traffic coming out of the 500 Block of Tunbridge Road will be able to make a right turn only during the construction time. The BGE contractors will do all they can to work with the community to make this as effortless as possible as they replace a 20” welded steel gas main. In addition to the BGE work: The work to be performed under W.C. # 1294, will consist of placing by-pass water piping, installation of a 10”valve, 10”x6” tee, removal of an old valve and install a new one, install new 8” water main, new fire hydrant, by-pass piping removal and site restoration. There is an approved Maintenance of Traffic plan which modifies the travel lanes in both the northbound and southbound lanes of travel for Bellona Ave and York Rd. The time shown on the notification of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. is for the length of time the contractor can work at this location because it is a gateway roadway. ---Baltimore City DOT
